TEN QUESTIONS TO PREPARE FOR THE DECADE OF DISTRUPTION:

2020

Just 3 days before, I read a Forbes article from LinkedIn. It is written for 2020, even more, the word “Disruption” catches my eye, beat my heart, strikes my mind. I would love to share it.

Let’s get into it. I strongly encourage, my respected avid readers, to read. I’m gonna paste that link too.

Henna Inam

I am the CEO of Transformational Leadership Inc. and the author of “Wired for Authenticity.” I have lived/worked in seven countries across four continents. My clients are purpose-driven C-level leaders in Fortune 500 companies who are passionate about creating transformational impact within and around them. My grandmother used to say that I would be philosopher when I grew up. I would spend hours staring outside the window. Admittedly, this was in Pakistan in the 1970s and there was nothing good on TV. Somewhere along the way to a brilliant career as a philosopher I got lost and went to business school instead. After an MBA from Wharton, I spent 20 years in leadership positions in P&G and Novartis including Region President and global Chief Marketing Officer.

I recommend each of us work through these questions to enable us to be more prepared and present for this decade of disruption in which millions of old jobs will go away and new jobs created. These questions will help you gain clarity regarding your strengths and values, develop learning agility. and discover the contributions you want to make to your workplace and world in the coming years.

  1. What am I truly grateful for now?
  2. What past accomplishments and strengths am I proud of?
  3. Who are the people who have helped me?
  4. What professional and personal experiences were meaningful and shaped me?
  5. Based on the above, what can I learn about my values?
  6. As I leave this decade what am I ready to let go of?
  7. What strengths, values and sense of purpose are important to me to anchor myself during change?
  8. What is my personal definition of success and contribution (across the domains that are important to me)?
  9. What new skill sets will be important for me to learn?
  10. Who are the mentors, community or tribe with whom it is important for me to be connected and contribute?

VALUABLE POETRY: PHENOMENAL WOMAN BY MAYA ANGELOU.

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

LEARN TO CARRY NOTEPAD/DIGITAL WALLET.

Creativity has no timings.

To carry to small notepad or digital wallet which convenient to your pocket or bag pack. Install a note-taking app or buy a small diary.

I think is one of the habits of successful people. They write it down and track it.

I usually have both of them. If I miss one or another. But, I make sure, when I carry my mobile and money wallet, my hands will search towards notepad and pen. I love to write to something every day. So, I need to choose valuable contents. I usually think a lot about my goals, reading and writing. If I start thinking more, while I commute. I write a couple of valuable contents. To be honest, not only. Even more, I see new books and I gather new information regarding my projects. I write.

We, individuals, have our professions right!

So, every day we are looking forward to gathering/read/write something or lot. Sometimes or quite often, when we are alone or we stay with our colleagues. There is a possibility our way of thinking goes intellectually high.

Our brain has a massive capacity to remember. I think, please correct me if I’m wrong. Outside distractions and emotional distractions might affect us that leads upset and heart-broken. This kind of bad stuff affects our productivity too.

Bad stuff happening in our life. That’s okay.

But, ladies and gentleman. Don’t forget to track the good stuff/ideas/creativities.

When it comes to taking note, I would strongly suggest learning to take bad memory. It will teach you more lessons in your life than ever before. If you started realizing the bad moments in your life. You will get to know,

What wrong with me?

Write it down, both good and bad.

COMMUNICATING CLEARLY:

All managers have to consider the public impact of their actions. Public relations (PR) is used to describe the way issues and messages are communicated between an organization and the public. Handle PR internally, or employ experts.

POWER TIPS:

  • Get your PR people to handle potentially difficult media situations.
  • If you meet a hostile journalist, keep your cool; say nothing that could damage good PR.
  • If bad news breaks, admit the reality to everyone – especially yourself.

The most effective advertising is favorable is word-of-mouth: this free promotion should be one of PR’s main objectives.

BRIEFING CONSULTANTS:

When you initially employ a PR company, introduce the PR consultants to the relevant personnel in your organization. Explain the brief and check that the consultants know whom to contact in future of the need arises.

SET A RIGHT RULES:

Even, if you set the right rules, If the tasks are still harder/boring. You should learn to stay engaged with the right rules until you succeed.

We knew very well. We begin the target with the ultimate inspiration from every year. After days and months, things got totally out of control. It just happens. The reason, I’m saying, we learn to move a bit closer towards the goals. If you hesitate/stop/feeling broken. You result, fortunately,/unfortunately comes to an end.

I feel this should not have happened because we are working for a successful life. Unless we don’t have the right rules. There will be chaos.

I could give you(readers) my example. Over the last year, I started reading two books. “The Wealth of Nations” by Adam Smith and Capital (Das Kapital) by Karl Marx. For me, it’s extremely harder to understand much more points.

The two rules, I’m following.

Highlight what you haven’t understood.

Keep reading and re-reading.

The word, I’m using “Right” is, I consider “Right” is a powerful word. \

Three quotes, I would love to add right now,

When you ready to start setting your own rules. The first step you need to do is analyze yourself.

What I want?

What I’m doing right now?

Self-realization must. Not selfishness ladies and gentleman.

Take a paper, and write about yourself. Your good deeds and bad deeds. Eventually, you could able to realize yourself. Finally, you can set your own rules. Even, if you jump deeper. You could able to visualize the right rules.

If we have the right pace in our life. Your thoughts and words will flow not only towards successive persona, a wise persona.

Let’s make the right move/rule.

2020 IS OUR PROSPEROUS YEAR:

White-Simple-Bordered-For-Men-Quotes-Instagram-Post-Brad-Paisley-1-tb-800x0Of course, we must make this year prosperous. Let’s harder and smarter than ever before. I not pushing too much on this year. Better I would say that, we have to take this year as an opportunity to succeed.

Today onwards, each and every one of us has to make a fresh approach/we need to learn to redefine our goals and mission. It’s all start from day by day. We cannot attain the bigger goals in a single step, rather we can move inch by inch. At the end of 31st December 2020, our results have to sounds a lot.

Then, we need to keep our-self updated with our profession. Beyond, if you gather for knowledge, that’s great. Read and update what you want. There is nothing with reading everything. Make that habit. Read widely.

Something more, which is extremely important. I feel like I must say, I recently read a quote on Instagram, “Without discipline, success is nothing”. Maintaining a discipline is the ultimate priority in our to-do-list, not only in our successful journey. Across our entire life too. This statement said by my dad, rings right now.

Let’s make this year quite remarkable and memorable. No matter what.

There is a mantra, I’m following this year, I would like to convey. “Keep improving yourself”. This is the new and ancient mantra for all of us. I quite often repeated in my blog, every day is important, do not excuse yourself. At the end of the day, before gonna bed. You have to have to some sort of satisfaction with your results. You need to prove yourself.

THE TRUE KNOWLEDGE: BY OSCAR WILDE.

Thou knowest all; I seek in vain
What lands to till or sow with seed –
The land is black with briar and weed,
Nor cares for falling tears or rain.

Thou knowest all; I sit and wait
With blinded eyes and hands that fail,
Till the last lifting of the veil
And the first opening of the gate.

Thou knowest all; I cannot see.
I trust I shall not live in vain,
I know that we shall meet again
In some divine eternity.

HOW CAN I APPROACH THE YEAR 2020?

Over the last 7 years of my ambitious/ferocious moves, I have to tackle/fight with “patience and consistency” in the upcoming year 2020.

Those two are the big drivers for a successful life. Even more frankly/honestly, I must accept myself, I struggled with those two. More specifically, learn to work more on my weakness. Not on the 1st of January. Right now. Harder than ever before.

For us, the initial goal should be read more than last year. I read for two hours every day last year. So, this year I will increase by 30 minutes. Two hours and 30 minutes. This is the most important move for our self-growth.

Next, comes to writing. if February 2020 comes, My blog successfully stepping into 2nd year. I’m feeling great. I need to turn around those rough blogposts.

OMG!

Feeling energetic and hungry to step farther. Because I knew, how were things?

Thank you, my respected readers and followers, and finally, almighty.

An art-of-gratitude.

Once again, I would strongly encourage the readers to take the year 2020 with “patience and consistency”.
