KEEP CALM AND OBSERVE, WHAT’S GOING ON?

Widen your eyes and just wait, watch and realize what’s going on in and around too.

If you take a path, run relentlessly. Just take a moment and look at the things. When you measure the progress, just look at yourself and everywhere.

If you don’t know, what’s going on. Success seems empty and tasteless.

When you realize something by doing it is called success and you can attain as soon as.

When you attained success. You must have some sort of deep understanding of what you had done and what you are going to do. More precisely, why you are doing it?

Here, the “Why” factor comes,

9780241958223_0021

Here, a leadership expert and my all-time favorite Simon Sinek’s book, “Start with why” also comes too. It’s still my book list, yet to read. I highly encourage everyone to read it. Even one more time too.

Sometimes, I feel like, I was blindly obsessive. Just over the last few months, I started to think once a week. Even sometimes may not.

This is what required. Absolutely must.

Ladies and gentleman,

If you don’t know or don’t have the why factor. Just start thinking of it. Just take time and observe.

  1. Search within yourself.
  2. Submit your questions and answers to your mentors.
  3. Even, it is chaotic, nothing to worry about. That natural. It happens to successful people too.

Keep calm and observe the stuff. Success might be delayed. It should not be meaningless after you succeed.

Be more specific, even if you are ambitious like me. That’s alright.

Take a paper and write one by one. See, what’s happened so far. What needs to be done. Track every week, month, and year your progress.

Why You Need To Pay Attention If You’re A Writer?

Quite frankly band honestly, this topic catches my attention when I was scrolling in LinkedIn. Right now, pay attention more please.

Do you make time to observe your world? In this post, we discuss what paying attention really means and why you need to pay attention if you’re a writer.

One of the most important qualities a writer needs is the ability to pay attention.

Writing is all about creating and describing, and most of us get our ideas and inspiration from what we see, tastesmellhear, and touch. We take ideas from books we’ve read, films we’ve watched, stories we’ve heard, and people we’ve met.

Great writers pay attention to everything and then find a way to put what they’ve experienced into words.

What Is Paying Attention?

Paying attention means you concentrate on something.

When you pay attention, you take notice without interfering. Attention is about taking the time to find out more, to discover, and to watch as things happen or change on their own.

When you pay attention, you do not judge or criticise. Paying attention is not critical. It is neutral.

If writers can get this right, they will uncover a treasure trove of material everywhere they go. They will concentrate on the details and that’s where the devil is, that’s where the important stuff resides.

How To Pay Attention

  1. Breathe
  2. Be quiet.
  3. Be patient.
  4. Use all five senses.
  5. Accept what you experience without judging it.

Write down what you’ve experienced afterwards.

Why You Need To Pay Attention If You’re A Writer

To pay attention is the gateway to becoming empathetic.

When we pay attention, we gain insight into people and places. We may have seen a person a thousand times, but until we really pay attention, we don’t understand them.

In another post on this website, Anthony Ehlers describes how noticing a perfect moment made him actually look at what was around him.

He says: ‘You can learn the craft of plot, of developing character, of refining genre — and all these are important steps to becoming a great writer — but at the heart of it, it’s really about capturing how you see the world. The beautiful, the seedy; the thrilling smile from a stranger, the polished shoes of a policeman, the way stained glass in a church makes you think of wine gums.’

A writer has the power to make things that weren’t obvious visible. The best writers do this all the time. They put what they have observed into a narrative.

What Famous Writers Say About Paying Attention

I’ve included these quotations from writers who knew all about the importance of paying attention.

  1. ‘Pay Attention. Notice the quality of light, the heft of air, colour of sky, faces, clouds, flowers, garbage, graffiti — all of it. Slow down and pay attention. Stop during your walks and examine a leaf. Read the writing in shop windows. Observe people getting on a bus, the bus driver, the stink of the bus exhaust.’ ~Judy Reeves
  2. ‘Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.’ ~Mary Oliver
  3. ‘But the sensibility of the writer, whether fiction or poetry, comes from paying attention. I tell my students that writing doesn’t begin when you sit down to write. It’s a way of being in the world, and the essence of it is paying attention.’ ~Julia Alvarez
  4. ‘Pay Attention – I honestly believe that the quality of a writer’s work has a direct correlation to the quality of his or her attention. I have to remind myself all the time to show up in my moments with all my antennae switched on.’ ~Sue Monk Kidd
  5. ‘The poet must not only write the poem but must scrutinise the world intensely, or anyway that part of the world he or she has taken for subject. If the poem is thin, it is likely so not because the poet does not know enough words, but because he or she has not stood long enough among the flowers–has not seen them in any fresh, exciting, and valid way.’ ~Mary Oliver
  6. ‘Writing is seeing. It is paying attention.’ ~Kate DiCamillo
  7. ‘The moment one gives close attention to any thing, even a blade of grass it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.’~Henry Miller
  8. ‘Listening is terribly important if you want to understand anything about people. You listen to what they say and how they say it, what they share and what they are reticent about, what they tell truthfully and what they lie about, what they hope for and what they fear, what they are proud of, what they are ashamed of. If you don’t pay attention to other people, how can you understand their choices through time and how their stories come out?’ ~Marge Piercy
  9. ‘All you have to do is to pay attention; lessons always arrive when you are ready.’ ~Paulo Coelho
  10. ‘Geniuses are people who notice things and connections between things which others haven’t noticed.’ ~Christopher Ricks
  11. ‘Zen pretty much comes down to three things — everything changes; everything is connected; pay attention.’ ~Jane Hirshfield
  12. ‘A writer, I think, is someone who pays attention to the world.’ ~Susan Sontag

LEARN PRANAYAMA:

The breathing exercises. If you wanna stay stronger, you should learn to breathe effectively. Pranayama is one of the best simple and comfortable breathing techniques.
I gave an overview of previous blog posts too. Today, I urged to say a bit deeper.
STEP 1: Sit in a comfortable position. Make sure the place should be  bit quiet.
STEP 2: I personally prefer sitting on the floor.
STEP 3: Just close your eyes for a minute. It will make you to stay concentrated.
STEP 4: Start inhale from one side of your nose, then exhale from the other side of your nose. Simultaneously.
STEP 5: Don’t stretch too much on inhaling and exhaling. Do naturally. You knew the limit of inhaling and exhaling right.
STEP 6: Set up a timer or count your turn. What I mean is, if you did both inhale and exhale. One turn ends. You can do five turns as you wish.
STEP 7: When it’s over, again, just sat with closed eyes. Just feel, what’s happening in and around your body. Of course, it too hard to feel the body on day 1. When you start doing every day. Do this particular step. Please, correct me, if I’m wrong. After every physical and mental activity, we should know what happens in our bodies. This is what I would do.
STEP 8: Have patience. The impact might take a year too. Just build this habit. Eventually, you will able to realize, a kind of strong mental fitness. In fact, a healthy lifestyle too.
The proverb I read in my school days. I would love to convey at this moment.
“Health is wealth”.
It is your duty and responsibility to nourish.

VALUABLE POETRY: A MOMENTS INDULGENCE BY RABINDRANATH TAGORE.

I ask for a moment’s indulgence to sit by thy side. The works

that I have in hand I will finish afterwards.

Away from the sight of thy face my heart knows no rest nor respite,

and my work becomes an endless toil in a shoreless sea of toil.

Today the summer has come at my window with its sighs and murmurs; and

the bees are plying their minstrelsy at the court of the flowering grove.

Now it is time to sit quite, face to face with thee, and to sing

dedication of life in this silent and overflowing leisure.

AGAIN, I LOST MY WRITING STREAK!

The 138 days streak, ends on Friday.
Again, I’m gonna start with zero.
OMG, why this is happening to me?
Writing every day something good and valuable is far more priority for me. Writing with this content, I’m not excusing myself/narrating a story. Even a step more, strategic content. I’m not emotional here. But, felt, rigid.
I’m urged to say here, how I sincerely love writing.
I wrote about a blog post. Why fatigue happens?
On Friday, I cannot believe. What’s happening? Feeling extreme fatigue. On the next day, I wake up at 8:10 AM, still feeling too dizzy, still lying on my bed without sleeping till 4:00 PM.
Feeling too hard to write, last night posts. I have written both of the posts together at midnight.
Today, I refreshed myself anyhow. With adaptability and adamantly managed to write it. If I missed today, felt ashamed. This must not happen.
Feeling deeply struggled to write. Still, my soul says, this is the reality of writing as a writer. Simultaneously, my subconscious mind says, be wise as a writer and deliver valuable content to the readers.
I don’t know the sequence of writing. I do more grammatical errors than a normal writer. But, I don’t wanna miss this writing rhythm.
I’m ready to say this statement, in every blog post. There is nothing wrong to start again with zero. Just start. Let’s start.
If you keep writing matters most. If you start doing stuff, what you want matters most. Writing is a journey, as I breathe.
Again, I’m gonna start with zero.

COMMUNICATING CLEARLY:

Comes under Using Public relations:

  • Treat cameras and microphones as if they were friendly people.
  • If you have good relationship with the press, exploit it to the full.

CONVEYING THE RIGHT MESSAGE:

When talking to journalists, think before you make a response; give straight-forward answers, and speak with confidence.

USING STATISTICS:

Readers, TV viewers, and radio listeners are always impressed my statistics, even when they cannot check their relevance or accuracy. Indeed, the more statistics you can muster in support of an argument, whether in a newspaper article or during an interview for broadcasting, the more convincing it will appear to an audience.

LEARNING IS AN NEVER-ENDING PROCESS:

We cannot learn everything in our life. Strategically, we can learn something every day until our last breath.
All successful people are life-long learners. They have a single goal. To learn. When they reached the peak, they never consider themselves I learned everything.
Why they were learning?
Learning will make them succeed and sustain too.
When I take-ways from successful people, I started noticing that leaning is the never-ending process. I started deciding, it should be part of our everyday activity. Every morning, you brush up your teeth, bath, foods, and everything. It must stick to our minds.
Kind of habit, you need to automate yourself. Here, I’m not rushing you all. Right now, you have to start building your learning track. It must be your life-long track. It doesn’t matter, whether smooth or hard or comfortable. The mantra is what you have to do.
My core suggestion is, pick up your favorite book or podcasts or seminars/conference that relates you to your passion or profession. Keep updating, what you want.
There is nothing wrong with starting something new or starting with zero. But, if you stay in zero, that ultimately leads to self-sabotage.
Even more, what I say to myself and everyone too. Every day least pick few minutes to stand and think alone. Or be in your team make sure that your people should be productive/ambitious/curious. Start discussing and thinking deeply. The ultimate level of learning should share with our peers.
Still, there are more to learn every day, because it is a never-ending process.

With respect.

EARN RESPECT.

Respect has to be earned.

You cannot expect or beg it. It just happens, when you succeed!

Please don’t mistake me, not only those who are succeeded. In fact, in a sport, we are giving respect and applause to both winners and runners too. When you are moving towards massive ambitious with deep curiosity. Respect born.

I should not criticize anyone. If you take me as a personal example. It was arrogant and aggressive. I feel like, I’m the one to do the things. I never make anyone stand beside me. I feel like, I’m alone can handle the stuff. That’s the worst mindset I was in.

When I started seeing some people, who had achieved a lot. To illustrate, Ratan Tata and Warren Buffett. Apart from inspiration, I have seen a lot from them. I feel like, I respect them. That feel, that sensation is the respect. Even though, I haven’t seen them live.

But when I say, they are my inspiration, the next line I would say, I have huge respect upon them.

Just now, my thought turns, character determines respect, every individual principle determines respect. Apart from success.

To say in one statement, a professional will earn enough respect. I don’t know, how to define professionalism?

I had seen them in my office. My previous boss. Mr. Patrick Taylor. Regional Vice President of South Asia at Teknion in Bengaluru. India.

At present, my current boss. Mr. Lucas Bianchi was a Co-Founder and Promoter of Namaste Credit in Bengaluru. India.

That’s why I need to more about professionalism. My next book, I’m gonna read. “The Professional” defining the new standard of excellence at work. By an author SUBROTO BAGCHI.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are deserved to earn respect.

With respect.
